Some Owners Prefer Wall Mounted Basins

Tastes differ when it comes to home interiors and preferences in terms of fittings, accessories and finishes in the home. Some people, for example, like the idea of the wall hung basin in their bathrooms, as opposed to other possibilities such as those that are sunk in a countertop, for instance – or the pedestal basin that sits on the floor.

One of the greatest advantages of this type of basin is obviously its space saving qualities since it is hung from the wall, and out of the way of families moving around the bathroom. Because they are not placed in the middle of the bathroom and therefore not the centre piece that gets all the attention, does not necessarily mean that they can’t be as stylish as the rest of the bathroom such as mirrors, tubs and cabinets. It is simply a matter of choice to have a wall hung basin.

As is the case with many other basins, you can get these in different sizes, some to suit even small spaces, whereas others are preferred by those who want a bigger basin that is comfortable to use and still makes an impression with its size. Choosing this type of basin does not mean you can’t have a pedestal, if that is indeed the look you like.

You can choose that design even though the basin is mounted; you just go for a semi pedestal where the traditional look is retained, albeit now in a wall hung basin.

This type of basin can be installed almost anywhere in your bathroom, also in corners, which will save even more space in cramped areas and very small bathrooms. Also, it makes sense to install it in such a way that even your little children have proper reach at taps and basins, since this is such a versatile basin in terms of how and where you can install them.

Depending on your own preferences you can hang them very low – for the smaller kids – or higher so that adults don’t find it uncomfortable to bend and use them. They also come in different styles like so many other basins and the wall hung basin makes it easy for the customer to choose the look he or she prefers.

Some have round or oval basins, others square – or close thereto – and others still a rectangular shape. They are also available in different materials as are other types of basins. If you look and shop around carefully, you will find that the choice allows you to come up with the exact design you want for your bathroom or toilet area where you want to have them installed.

If you have a bathroom with lots of space, you can have a double wall hung basin against the wall, both for practical reasons such as making it possible for more than one person to wash at the same time, and for effect.

This could be for two people in the same house, but also in other circumstances such as in school bathrooms and toilets – or hostels. These basins are indeed often used in schools, hostels, military facilities and other concerns where a number of people need to wash at the same time.

They are positioned on the wall, easy to reach and they save space so that people have free and easy movement around them. When you want to look at the different options for wall hung basins you will find that there is one for everybody.

Some are very expensive, meticulously designed and meant for the buyer who can afford to pay for the very best quality and brands. However, there are many others that are perfectly well designed and manufactured, and great for use in the bathrooms in most homes and other facilities.

Most people call in the help of someone to install their basin; however, if you enjoy DIY, make sure you have the basin you want plus all additional fittings and screws, for instance.
